About the Author
Sheetal Tahilramani is an author of children’s picture books. Her first book, Happy to be Blu, tackles the subject of embracing change in a way young children can understand. Her second book, The Brightest Candle, is a story of kindness and the power in giving. She is also a blogger and freelance writer on topics relating to parenting and education.
Her book and writing has been featured in Sassy Mama Hong Kong, Expat Living Magazine, Expat Parent Magazine, Mamalode, and Playtimes Magazine. She is an active member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators’ Hong Kong chapter. In addition to writing, she is a regular guest speaker at schools in Hong Kong where she speaks to children about writing, the publishing process, and conducts writing workshops. In support of the Love Reading Campaign, she has been able to share this work with public Hong Kong schools, as well.
She volunteers with the Home of Loving Faithfulness planning excursions and activities for the residents. She also volunteers as a teacher at a religious center on a weekly basis and is on the planning committee of an annual Christmas party, Mystical Christmas, held at the Kowloon Cricket Club for refugee and underprivileged children in Hong Kong.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Communication from Boston College and is a mother of three. Prior to living in Hong Kong, she worked in account management at the East West Marketing Group in New York City.
